Surprisingly, as a super single gal, Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite times of the year. Mainly because of the good vibes and overall excuse to love on my peeps. That being said, I always love to host some sort of Galentine’s celebration! In this guide, I walk through all of my personal favs to help you have the best Galentine’s celebration yet!
To just cover our bases, I think every good Galentine’s should have these five things; bubbles (of the alcoholic and non-alcoholic variety), food, crafts of some sort, time for chitty chats, and a good party favor.
To start our Galentine’s celebration off, the gals and I had bubbles and brunch. I stocked up with plenty of bottles of champagne, a bunch of different juices, and made an array of snacks and food to munch on. The complete brunch menu included; hash brown casserole (my current hyper fixation), fresh fruit, veggies, various cheeses, deli meats, chocolate covered popcorn, red velvet donuts, pretzel bites, and a queso dip.
If you’re mixing different friend groups, I’d give the bubbles time to kick in and once everyone is mingling then transition to your craft activity.
This year, for our craft activity, we actually made our own candles. It’s a super easy and yet engaging way to get everyone talking. You’d be surprised just how quickly people come together when they realize none of them have a clue what they’re doing. I have a full step-by-step process here, if you yourself prefer to be the candle connoisseur.
Now the candles do take some time to cool down before they can be transported, so we took that time to continue conversations and just catch up with the life updates. But if you’re having a hard time keeping conversations flowing, you can always pull out an easy game for people to play.
The last little touch I always add to any event I host, is a little party favor that people can take home with them. For the Galentine’s Brunch, I made these adorable “Love Bites” that are actually dog treats made from scratch using fresh strawberries.
These dog treat bags have become a fan favorite at the events I host. So much so, that my friends have convinced me to start making regular batches for all their pups.
At the end of the day (or night for some), everyone got their personal candles and fresh dog treats to take home. Just a little something to remind them of how great of a host I am in their day-to-day lives.
We had such a great time and it’s always nice to just sit down and catch-up with friends. I know the older we get, the more chaotic our lives and schedules can be, so taking the time to get everyone together can get difficult. But as you navigate through all the different planning, remember that those stomach-aching laughs, and sometimes tears, are good for the soul.
As you plan for your own Galentine’s celebration, I hope you keep these tips in mind and even try out a craft or new recipe yourself.
Here’s to the Gals!
XOXO
